Students Welcome

Headingley Methodist Church has links with the local Universities which stretch back decades. Students from the Universities have over the years worshipped with us during their stay in Leeds. These days the number is perhaps smaller than in previous years, but we continue to offer a warm welcome to the students who join us for worship and fellowship, including some from overseas.

Yorkshire West Methodist District have appointed Revd Melvyn Kelly, a Methodist minister, to serve as University Chaplain in the Universities’ Chaplaincy in Leeds. The Chaplaincy is an ecumenical team serving four of the local Universities, The Chaplaincy team, motivated by their calling as Christians, offers pastoral support, hospitality and a place of belonging to staff and students of University of Leeds, Leeds Beckett University, Leeds Arts University and the University of Law. Melvyn serves all four Universities but is specifically the lead chaplain at Leeds Beckett University and the University of Law.

Melvyn and his family live in Headingley and worship with us here at Headingley Methodist Church and they are always happy to connect with students here.
