Headingley Methodist Church from Otley Road

Headingley Methodist Church (HMC) is a friendly, warm and welcoming community of Methodists in the very heart of Headingley, the famous suburb of Leeds.

Opened in 1845, the church is a fine example of an early Victorian Methodist chapel and still retains its historic appeal. There has however been considerable modernisation over the years, and the church now serves many purposes; nonetheless the main function of the building is still very much as a place for Christian worship and witness, and outreach to the local and wider community. As well as the church itself, the building comprises several other rooms which are put to a variety of uses by various groups during the week, as will be seen from other pages within this website.

New worshippers are always made welcome at Headingley, and are likely to find themselves plied with tea or coffee and biscuits or cake, as well as fellowship in prodigious quantities.

Have a tour around our website and do feel free to come and visit us, with no obligation, to see and experience the friendly community of which we are so proud.
